Whether serving as an ESL teacher, homework tutor, medical driver, or bible study leader, volunteers significantly enhance our ability to make a meaningful difference in the lives of refugees in Raleigh!

How To Start Volunteering With Us.

Fill out a volunteer interest form.

Attend a volunteer orientation (dates located on the calendar).

STEP THREE

Fill out online paperwork & complete a background check.

STEP FOUR

Get “activated” – RHP sends approval with an activation password.

Ways To Volunteer.

There are many ways to volunteer with Refugee Hope Partners – from tutoring at one of our many Homework Help programs (Kindergarten through College), to driving refugees to medical appointments, or meeting families’ basic needs by connecting them to community resources. Refugee Hope Partners strives to provide holistic care for our refugee communities through our Four Pillars of Service, serving the mind, body, and spirit of each individual.

HOW OLD DO YOU NEED TO BE TO VOLUNTEER?

You must be at least 12 years old or a rising 7th grader (if volunteering in the summer) to volunteer at Refugee Hope Partners.

DO YOU HAVE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES FOR GROUPS?

Yes! There are many opportunities for groups to be a part of our programs or help Refugee Hope Partners through various service opportunities. If you are looking to volunteer as a group, please send an inquiry to Director of Volunteers, Jennifer Taylor, at jennifer@refugeehopepartners.org.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO VOLUNTEER?
  • Be at least 12 years old or a rising 7th grader (if volunteering over the summer).
  • Attend a volunteer orientation.
  • Fill out volunteer paperwork and complete a background check. This includes:
    • RHP’s Statement of Faith
      • Refugee Hope Partners is a faith-based organization. We are motivated in our mission by the commands and teachings of the Bible. RHP programs are open to refugees of all faiths. Members of the board, staff, and volunteers who represent Refugee Hope Partners in the community or who participate in the leadership of any spiritual emphasis programs must be able to endorse both Affirmation 1 and Affirmation 2 on the Statement of Faith. Volunteers participating in academic support programs (Early Learning Club, ESL Kids Club, and Homework Help) are only required to endorse Affirmation 1.
        • Affirmation 1: I acknowledge RHP’s Statement of Faith and affirm that I will not speak or act in any manner that contradicts or undermines RHP’s Statement of Faith while participating in any RHP activity. (applicable to Homework Help, Early Learning Club, ESL Kids Club, and/or Summer Clubs & Fun)
        • Affirmation 2: I affirm that I subscribe to RHP’s Statement of Faith without reservation (applicable to Adult ESL, Medical Ministry, The Bridge Program, Family Engagement, and/or Thrive-Basic Needs)
  • Child Protection Policy
  • General Release Form
  • Background Check if 18 years or older.
DO YOU HAVE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES OUTSIDE OF NORTH RALEIGH?

Yes! The majority of volunteer opportunities currently reside in North Raleigh. However, our programs are expanding and reaching people where they are. We currently have a Homework Help location in Apex and have many opportunities to support families through Family Engagement, Bridge Mentorship, and Family Basic Needs programs that support families wherever they are located in the Triangle.

DO YOU HAVE ANY PROGRAMS ON WEEKENDS?

All of our regularly scheduled programs occur over weekdays. However, there are more opportunities for weekend service in our Family Engagement and Bridge Mentorship Programs.
