Lutheran Services is one of four refugee resettlement agencies operating in the Triangle. They recognize Refugee Hope Partners’ impact by referring their clients to RHP programming and services. RHP also holds quarterly meetings with refugee stakeholders, including Lutheran Services, to hear updates on ongoing resettlement and discuss solutions to challenges faced by refugee families.
World Relief Durham (WRD) is one of four refugee resettlement agencies operating in the Triangle. WRD has offered legal services assistance to refugees at RHP’s North Raleigh Welcome Center. RHP partners with WRD to equip local churches to love and serve the nations in the Triangle. RHP also holds quarterly meetings with refugee stakeholders, including World Relief Durham, to hear updates of ongoing resettlement and discuss solutions to challenges faced by refugee families.
Refit believes that the heart is more than a muscle. That a person is more than a body. That relationships are as important as results. Fitness isn’t just for the fit…it’s for the willing. Partnering with RHP since 2022, two members of Refit Revolution have committed to challenging the women in our community through fun and vigorous workouts. Each Friday they offer a free 1 hour class to any refugee women who want to come and make working out a fun and relational experience.
Since 2021, RHP has partnered with Literacy and Community Initiative (LCI), a collaboration between NC State University’s College of Education and the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation. LCI partners with community-based organizations to examine and empower youth voices. Over the last three school years, teen students at RHP have engaged in both writing and art sessions to publish three volumes of their work entitled, “Brave Histories and Hopeful Futures: Voices of a Refugee Community,” which can be purchased on Amazon or at the RHP Welcome Center.
WorkerSpring assists employers and job seekers by providing a repository of job opportunities that are uniquely designed for Refugee Hope Partners. Employers who are seeking to employ refugees are able to post their openings while refugees are able to see a curated list of jobs available to them. Workerspring has proved to be a strong partner for RHP and has provided much needed employment opportunities for refugees.
The Raleigh Music Collective (RMC) is an El Sistema inspired nonprofit organization that provides rigorous music education to diverse students for an affordable cost. In the summer of 2019, the founder and Executive Director Sara Maria Blanton brought 12 violins to RHP, with a dream to start a free violin class for any interested elementary students. Since then RMC has grown exponentially to serve students, both refugees and not, throughout the city. RMC offers free weekly group classes at one of RHP’s housing hubs for 3rd-12th grade students, as well as summer camp experiences.
The mission of Hope Reins is to pair kids in crisis with rescued horses and mentors to find hope and healing at its 38-acre ranch. Hope Reins has offered free monthly sessions for groups of RHP students since 2017 where they get to explore and enjoy the ranch, grow in resiliency, and connect with the Hope Reins horses in a Christ-centered environment.
Welcome House Raleigh is a ministry of radical hospitality and welcome for our refugee and immigrant neighbors. Welcome House Raleigh (WHR) is a temporary reception housing ministry for refugees and immigrants who do not have a place to live upon arrival to the United States. They provide a safe home, settlement assistance, and bridges into the community. Their main goal at WHR is to share the love of God in Christ Jesus through the ministries of hospitality and friendship.
The mission of The Green Chair Project is to reuse furnishings donated by the community to help neighbors in need. Green Chair works with resettlement agencies and RHP is a referral partner and refers families to request beds for children for free or furniture packages that have a cost for delivery. RHP also directs in-kind donations of furniture to Green Chair.
We Welcome is a grassroots community seeking to mobilize and equip women of faith to build and cultivate a welcome movement from their tables at home to the halls of Congress. They hope to empower their community to take action for the vulnerable in both our personal lives and through advocating for just immigration policies. The NC Branch is a partner of RHP providing their educational resources, action tools, and a supportive community for those seeking to take the next step in their advocacy for immigrants and refugees.
FCA’s vision is to see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes. Partnering with RHP since the summer of 2023, FCA offers free summer day camp spots to refugee students. By providing transportation to FCA’s soccer camp, students ranging from 3rd-12th grade get to experience a fun Christ-centered space to learn soccer skills and hear God’s word from FCA coaches and athletes.
Refugee Hope Partners (RHP) plays a vital role in supporting Wake County Public Schools (WCPSS) by fostering strong connections between schools and refugee families. RHP facilitates communication between parents and schools, ensuring parents are well-equipped to advocate for their children’s education. Additionally, RHP has had the opportunity to provide specialized training for teachers to help them understand and address the unique challenges faced by refugee students. By offering access to medical care, RHP helps reduce absenteeism, ensuring students can attend school regularly and thrive academically. Through these comprehensive efforts, RHP enhances the educational experience and success of refugee students within WCPSS.
New Life Camp (NLC) exists to love, accept, and introduce children and their families to Jesus Christ and equip them to live lives that glorify God. NLC has partnered with RHP since 2010 – providing invaluable support to RHP students through a variety of programs and activities (including summer camp). Additionally, NLC hosts numerous RHP events such as the annual youth fall retreat, prayer and worship nights, holiday celebrations, and more. NLC holds a special place in the history of RHP. Before launching as an independent 501(c)(3) organization, RHP operated as a ministry program under the umbrella of New Life Camp from 2016-2018!
The United States Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI) is one of four refugee resettlement agencies operating in the Triangle. USCRI recognizes Refugee Hope Partners’ impact by referring their clients to RHP programming and services. RHP also holds quarterly meetings with refugee stakeholders, including USCRI, to hear updates of ongoing resettlement and discuss solutions to challenges faced by refugee families.
From its conception, NeighborHealth Center has sought to address the unique medical, emotional, and spiritual needs of refugees. They show great compassion and demonstrate God’s love through their gracefulness in dealing with the challenges presented by people of various languages and cultures. NeighborHealth facilitates quarterly meetings with the health department, refugee resettlement agencies, and RHP to better serve refugees and create easier pathways for healthcare access. They are huge RHP supporters and enthusiastically participate in RHP programs.
Church World Service (CWS) is one of four refugee resettlement agencies operating in the Triangle. RHP has seen the fruit of CWS efforts through cases of family reunification over the years. RHP also holds quarterly meetings with refugee stakeholders, including Church World Service, to hear updates on ongoing resettlement and discuss solutions to challenges faced by refugee families.
ServeMyCmunity’s mission is to help local refugee children develop social and educational skills by increasing the number of RHP volunteers and by providing additional funding with their unique volunteer model. Their goal is to provide greater opportunities for refugee children to prepare them to face the challenges of today’s world. ServeMyCmunity provides funding for RHP’s Launch Program – an academic support and enrichment program for middle school students.
National Charity Leaque’s mission is to foster the mother-daughter relationship through an ongoing commitment to philanthropy, culture and leadership. Partnering with Refugee Hope Partners since Fall 2023, the National Charity League (NCL) has partnered to provide needed volunteers in our homework help and summer club programs. Mothers and daughters come as a team to help students grow in academic success and have fun doing it.
Arise Ranch is located in Wake Forest and seeks to build opportunities for growth and healing through time at the ranch. RHP offers free group sessions and day camp experiences for students aging elementary through high school. Students experience a safe place to understand themselves and the world around them through learning the basics of horsemanship.
Young Life’s mission is to introduce adolescents to Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith. North Raleigh Young Life staff and volunteers regularly interact with many RHP students at Sanderson High School. In addition, Young Life has hosted various teen events on site at a North Raleigh Apartment Complex where we serve as well as the RHP Welcome Center. Future partnership vision with Young Life includes presence in RHP Bible Studies, increased contact work with RHP students at Sanderson HS and the Apartments, and continued involvement with RHP teen activities.
Mission Triangle exists to help Chrisitan-led nonprofits of the Triangle and beyond to expand their Kingdom Impact. Refugee Hope Partners’ staff receive training and support from Mission Triangle through workshops and consulting. RHP has participated twice in Mission Triangle’s Shark Tank (2018 and 2021).
Amplio Recruiting is a staffing agency that helps companies hire dependable employees from the refugee workforce. Amplio has been working with refugees for more than five years. Partnering with RHP, Amplio has provided vital assistance to both help refugees find employment and prepare resumes and other vital documents. Amplio has invested time in hosting job fairs and job readiness workshops for refugees that RHP serves.
The YMCA of the Triangle is committed to nurturing the potential of children through youth development, improving the nation’s health and well-being by promoting healthy living, and fostering a sense of social responsibility by providing opportunities to give back and support neighbors.
The AE Finley YMCA has partnered with RHP by offering their Swim For Life program to refugee students since 2022. By providing transportation over spring break and weekly summer swim sessions, upwards of 50 students per session have learned basic swimming skills with experienced swim instructors.
Ripe Revival is a nonprofit organization located in Rocky Mount, NC focused on connecting their vast network of farmers and food industry relationships to address food insecurity in the community. Ripe Revival provides mobile food markets to the adults RHP serves, as well as providing educational materials to school-aged students.
