Health & Wellness.

We’re deeply committed to nurturing the holistic well-being of refugee families, understanding that true health encompasses not just the physical body but also mental and social aspects. Our approach to health and wellness is comprehensive, addressing all aspects of wellness that are essential for creating healthier, happier, and more resilient refugee communities where individuals can thrive and reach their full potential.

Where We Come In.

MEDICAL MINISTRY

Refugee Hope Partners’ Medical Ministry does not provide direct medical care but instead acts as a bridge, connecting refugees to trusted medical providers within the Triangle area. Additionally, we occasionally host screening events in collaboration with medical partners, providing opportunities for early detection and intervention. Recognizing the logistical challenges many refugee families face, we offer transportation services for crucial medical appointments, facilitated by compassionate volunteers.

In 2023 alone, RHP coordinated an impressive 747 medical appointments, demonstrating our commitment to ensuring refugees receive the healthcare they need. Beyond connecting refugees to medical care, we prioritize health education as a proactive measure. Through workshops, classes, and strategic partnerships, we equip refugees with the knowledge and tools necessary for informed decision-making and preventive care. This emphasis on health education empowers individuals to take control of their well-being and adopt healthy lifestyles.

Overall, RHP’s Medical Ministry is dedicated to helping refugees access affordable healthcare while promoting independence and proactive health management. By addressing both the immediate and long-term healthcare needs of refugees, we strive to create healthier and more resilient communities where individuals can thrive.

SOCIAL WORK

RHP operates a robust Social Work program dedicated to supporting the holistic well-being of refugee families in the Triangle area. Our program is designed to provide comprehensive and compassionate social work support, recognizing the unique challenges refugees face as they navigate life in a new country. One of our primary objectives is to assist refugees in accessing essential social services such as Food Stamps, Medicaid enrollment, WIC benefits, and other vital resources, ensuring that their basic needs are met. Additionally, we offer guidance and support in understanding and managing bills, navigating complex healthcare systems, and accessing affordable healthcare options.

Moreover, our Social Work program is equipped to provide crucial support during family crises, such as financial emergencies or domestic challenges. We work closely with refugee families to identify solutions, connect them with community resources, and offer emotional support during difficult times. Our goal is to empower refugee families to overcome challenges, build resilience, and achieve stability and self-sufficiency in their new environment.

RHP’s Social Work program plays a crucial role in helping refugee families thrive and integrate successfully into their new communities.

Health & Wellness Partners.

We emphasize the importance of partnering with local medical providers, health agencies, and organizations within its health and wellness pillar. These partnerships are essential to ensure that refugee families have access to comprehensive healthcare services, addressing both immediate medical needs and long-term wellness. Collaborating with local health experts allows RHP to provide culturally competent care, preventative health education, and essential medical resources that refugees might otherwise lack. Additionally, RHP’s partnerships extend to social work services, which help refugees access clothing, Food Stamps, Medicaid, WIC benefits, and other vital resources. Through these vital health and social service partnerships, RHP strives to eliminate barriers to healthcare, promote wellness, and build a robust support system for refugee families.
