Being an advocate means standing in the gap—to bring clarity to confusion, to show up when relationships are strained, and to speak up when others cannot.

At Refugee Hope Partners, we stand in the gap for our refugee neighbors—men, women, and children who have been forced from their homes because of war, persecution, or political instability.

Being an advocate means staying aware of policies that affect the people we love.

In recent weeks, we’ve highlighted challenges facing some of our Afghan neighbors – many of whom risked their lives alongside the U.S. military or fled Afghanistan to escape religious persecution because of their Christian faith.

Initially, these families received unclear orders to self-deport; now, they face the loss of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) on July 14.

While our previous updates have focused on Afghan families, there other groups also affected by similar policy changes. As of September 23, 2024, the U.S. provides TPS protections to over 850,000 individuals from 16 countries. Many of these individuals face the same uncertainties.

RHP is deeply concerned about the impacts of these changes on families in our community.

We are committed to supporting those affected by providing up-to-date information and connecting families with trusted legal resources. We are hosting information sessions with immigration experts, reaching out to lawmakers for clarity, and continuing to serve families through our programs that bring hope and practical support daily. We remain dedicated to advocating for their ability to remain and thrive in safety.

We encourage you to continue in:
